First, there was Bakalina; a duo of a lyric-writer and a singer, the tongue-running farmer-poet Jani Kutin and accordion player Renata Lapanja. Yet Bakalina grew with every concert and album and became Bakalina Velika – the Great. With their very emotional interpretation of lyrics, supported by carefully selected instruments, bandmembers of Bakalina Velika take us on a journey into worlds where songs come to life. This is why it should come to no surprise that their songs found, rather spontaneously, their home and their final vocal form on a snowy mountain top, in the cave, at the river, among the trees, on alpine pastures, in the ruins of an old church, and under the hundred-years-old snow pear tree of Križar, where they invited artists from all over the world to join them as their guests.
