Judgement Tower | | Concert

Being a minstrel is a state of the mind and soul and something you do in the afternoons.

One of his original songs goes something like this: “We know our way around them all, be it song or setting, we’ll wipe away your tears at a funeral and a wedding, we do our gigs for all, the black ones and the blondes, the dododos and the don’tsdon’tsdont’s.”

Robert has been making rounds on the stage ever since he was twelve; he played both with symphony orchestras and punks in nuclear bomb shelters, racked up miles on everything from festival to church stages and even scaffoldings, and spent quite a few years as a member of more or less famous pop bands, all while writing music for other artists and singers. He says these are not necessarily the same.

After countless concerts, gigs, parties, bashes, weddings, funerals, celebrations, stag parties, and literally everything in between, he finally stepped into the spotlight himself. His gigs are either solo acts or as part of the Maja and Robi duo or with his band The Rafters; you can hear him in the show Kaj dogaja on TV Slovenia’s channel 1, and it’s quite possible you saw him in one of the videos for his personalized songs that he creates for anniversaries, birthdays, weddings, and the like.

He's bringing to Festival Lent a lineup of banging artists and singers (again, these are not necessarily the same) who are sure to provide a no-nonsense and compact counter-pole to Robert’s lyrical escapades and rhetorical sidetracks. The supporting band will make sure that all of those who haven’t heard Robert before and are just looking for some good music will be able to enjoy the concert as well.
